OliviaSome are fortunate enough to have the unshakable strength to get back on their feet when it seems like their dream has been deferred. Yet very few encompass enough tenacity and courage to persevere in the midst of opposition. There is an exception; there is one concrete rose that still stands tall in the midst of the storm; and that is none other than singer-songwriter, Olivia Longott.

Olivia knows a thing or two about obstacles, and more importantly, how to overcome them. Ever since Olivia was a little girl, her love affair with music was unquenchable.

This Jamaican-born beauty signed her first contract with Tallest Tree Records, which granted her the opportunity to work with one of her favorite artists of all time, R&B crooner, Joe. This fated interaction gave her the resources she needed to land a meeting with a top Arista executive, putting her on a direct path with the world-renowned Clive Davis.

As one of the first artists to sign a contract with J Records, at 19, Olivia was taken under Clive’s wing as he mentored her about the in’s and out’s of the music industry. Under J records, she released her first single, “Bizounce” off of her self-titled album in 2000, which went gold.

As quickly as Olivia found herself on the brink of success, for political reasons, she parted with J Records and embarked on another musical journey with Interscope, collecting the interest of super producer Dr. Dre and rapper, 50 Cent. Right away, she was hailed as the “first lady” of G-Unit and her sultry vocals contributed to various songs on 50 Cent’s “The Massacre,” album, such as his hit “Candy Shop.” Olivia’s own solo singles, ‘Twist It” featuring Lloyd Banks and her number one hit, “Best Friend” featuring 50 Cent, were instantly successful.

Despite the success, Olivia found herself at a crossroads once again and parted with G-Unit. Now, Olivia is back, proving that the end only lead to her new beginning. She’s under new management with Rich Dollaz of Dollaz Unlimited, and is once again pushing forward with an unwavering spirit.

Olivia’s quest to conquer the airwaves once again became most evident when her newly leaked single, “Take it Off,” garnered major buzz and was well received by fans.
